Lip Color Care Instructions

Day of procedure

• Wear your makeup on the procedure area so we can discuss your expectations. This is only for review!
• Many clients take an over the counter pain reliever or a physician prescribed pain reliever.
• No caffeine 2 hours before procedure. Please eat, as your procedure time will be 2 – 2 ½ hours
• If you have EVER had a cold sore you will need an antiviral medication to help prevent the outbreak of cold sores.
• Lips may have mild to significant swelling. Avoid salt for several days prior to procedure.

After Care

• Wash using your fingers at least once a day with a mild diluted soap for 2-3 days. Do not use hydrogen peroxide to cleanse area. Pat dry, wait 10 minutes and apply given ointment lightly with a Q-tip 3-4 times daily for at least 7 days.
• No steaming hot showers, sauna, jacuzzi, or swimming for 7 days. You must stay out of the sun and tanning beds! Avoid toothpaste on lips. No hot liquids, drink through a straw, just blot with a napkin.
• When flaking, peeling or crusting appears, DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR SCRATCH, it may cause the color to heal unevenly. Simply re-apply ointment lightly.
• After the peeling takes place, lips will be slightly off color and light in areas for approximately 3 - 4 weeks until the full color develops. Actual shape, depth and color results will show at about 6-8 weeks. Lip color will lighten up to 40-50 %
• After your lips heal wearing at least a 25 SPF sunblock in your chapstick at all times will help maintain color and reduce fading.

Your future enhancement schedule is as follows:

Due to a variety of factors your color will fade and soften over time. Some of these factors include; health
of skin, sun, not using sun block, chlorine, skin care, medications and overall health.

Before you leave your first appointment a complimentary enhancement will be scheduled for approximately
6 – 8 weeks later. If you desire another enhancement within 6 months it is available for $75.

As with any beauty treatment you can freshen, boost and revitalize your color at any time. If you schedule your enhancement within 2 years (24 months) of the original procedure date the reduced enhancement fee
is $295 (that works out to just 38¢ per day!). After 2 years the enhancement fee is to be determined upon viewing.
